Boketto / Contemplation

centers on moments of withdrawal and suspended attention.

Figures, objects, and environments appear caught between action and rest—immersed in water, seated, or isolated within quiet spatial frameworks. The series draws on the Japanese concept of boketto: an unfocused gaze that turns away from external demands.

Through oil on canvas, the paintings construct psychological interiors where time loosens its grip. In a culture of constant stimulation, these works insist on slowness, offering painting as a space for mental pause and inward reflection.
